Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai is back with the third edition of Prayatna – “PRAYATNA 3.0”, the annual intra institute sports tournament. Prayatna, which means “effort”, is aimed to arouse the sportsman spirit of the budding technocrats. The main motive behind this three months long competition is to promote healthy competition among the students.

Prayatna 3.0, organized by the Sports Council of IIT Bhilai, was inaugurated on January 16, 2020 in the venerating presence of Prof. Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Bhilai among other esteemed guests. This officially kick starts the three months long array of varied sports fixtures involving eight sports presently offered by the institute, viz. table tennis, chess, volleyball, badminton, football, cricket, athletics and basketball.

Prayatna 3.0 sees a humongous participation of 300 students this time which clearly indicates its inordinate success last year. With Prayatna, IIT Bhilai hopes to clearly establish the intricate importance of sports in everyday life, and this is joyously complemented by the students’ friendly and supportive attitude towards this endeavor.

The next three months shall witness tough competition on the points tally as the eight teams march to claim the top spot. The sweet escapade of sports blended with the sweat and toil of hundreds of students of IIT Bhilai, is sure to add another feather to the cap of this newly established yet fervently developing institute.
