IIT Bhilai Alumni Association was registered with Registrar Firms and Societies, Chhattisgarh on October 8th, 2020, with the goal of creating a fraternity and maintaining a relationship between alumni and their alma mater. The alumni association already has 287 registered members with the second cohort of students graduating in May 2021.
Key Highlights:
➢ The first Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Association was held on 30th November 2022, where the second election was carried out to replace the members whose tenure was about to end.
➢ Mr. Govind Kumar Arora [B.Tech./CSE/2016-2020] is the current President with Mr. Rachuri Sri Pramodh [B.Tech./EE/2016-2020] serving as Vice-President UG and Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee [M.Tech./CSE/2019-2021] acting as Vice-President PG, as well as six members forming the Executive Committee.
➢ IIT Bhilai Alumni Association has also registered with the income tax department U/S 12A (vide Registration No. AABAI9460LE20218 dated 11th February 2022) and U/S 80G (vide Registration No. AABAI9460LF20224 dated 31st December 2021) whereby donations made to the Association are eligible for exemptions under Income Tax act.
➢ Alumni Career Guidance Program (ACGP) was launched under the aegis of Office of Alumni Affairs and IIT Bhilai Alumni Association for the students who are currently in B.Tech. 3rd year and M.Tech. 1st year. This program aims to provide personal mentorship for students with their queries regarding placements, preparation for higher studies, and breaking into the field of their choice.
➢ IIT Bhilai has introduced a new donor award “Alumni Association’s Young Researchers Award” proposed by Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai Alumni Association.
