The Departmental Library is our refuge from the rush and hustle of academia in today’s increasingly networked world, where the entwined creeds of productivity and growth often threaten to unsettle habits of quiet reflection and solitude. We have taken care to create a warm and welcoming space for our scholars, staff, and faculty to unwind with a book in hand or even bring their daily chores of research or administration to a more calming and meaningful environ.
Our library is proud to host nearly eight hundred titles, curated across the following collections through the support and generosity of friends of the department:
- Promodini and Bhola Nath Varma Collection
- Dhirendra Narain and Vidya Saksena Collection
- Prabha and Ravindra Narayan Saxena Collection
These collections feature a broad range of titles, ranging from South Asian history to British literature, literary theory and criticism to popular culture. The catalogue is available with the department office and may be accessed on request. Lending facilities are extended only to members of the department, but all are welcome to browse through the collections.
